And hence protecting our local community, making our resort sustainable and eco friendly and ensuring that we make our village plastic free has always been our highest priorities.

After 6 years of continuous efforts, in April 2024, Wind Blend Kite Resort has been awarded the prestigious Level 1 certification by Green Destinations, a leading European organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism practices worldwide.

This certification is a testament to our commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism. We have proven that at Wind Blend, sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's a way of life. From the moment you arrive, you will notice our efforts to minimise our environmental footprint while maximising the positive impact on our guests and local community.

Achieving Level 1 certification from Green Destinations signifies that we meet rigorous criteria across various aspects of sustainability, including:

• Environmental Management: We have implemented practices to conserve energy and water, reduce waste, and protect local biodiversity.

• No Plastic Policy: We have removed plastics, especially single usage plastics from our resort through our partnership with Clean my Beach, a NGO that sponsors regular beach cleanups on Kappalady Lagoon. Read more here about our joint efforts to keep our village plastic free.

• Community Engagement: Wind Blend is located in the heart of our beautiful Kappalady village. We have ensured that our local community values are respected, local culture preserved, and we have actively involving our community in our resort through Kids art fairs.
