In 2022, Wind Blend hosted something truly special - Kappalady Village’s first ever art competition for children.  At Wind blend, we do not believe in simply existing within our own little bubble, we are dedicated to uplifting the community that we are nestled in and giving back in meaningful ways. And one of the ways of doing that, we thought, is by hosting an art competition for kids! 

This competition was not just about showcasing the artistic talents of the Kappalady children. It was about celebrating the creativity that exists within the community and fostering a sense of pride and belonging. The response was incredible. We had 100+ Kids from all over the village eagerly participating. They showed up in their best outfits, with the biggest smiles and poured their hearts and souls into their artwork.

The range of styles was impressive, from bold and colorful abstracts to beautiful designs to delicate watercolours of local landscapes and people. beyond the beautiful artwork, what was truly inspiring was the spirit of the community and the lively ambience. Kids came together to share their love of art and supported one another. Parents turned up to admire their children and Wind Blend staff and volunteers put in all their energy to make the event a success. What a day it was ! 
 
In the end, everyone was a winner as we finished the competition by distributing art supplies, cakes and fresh drinks! Art is a celebration of community, creativity, and the power of people coming together to make something beautiful. And for the kids who participate, it's a reminder that their unique talents and perspectives are valued and appreciated.
